Our 'Maths through Stories' workshop was a fantastic opportunity for parents and carers to develop strategies of teaching mathematical skills through stories. All parents and carers were able to make a resource to take away with them! Thank you to Mel for running this successful workshop.
We are running a Primary School Admissions Workshop on Wednesday 11th November, straight after you've dropped your child off. Please ensure you bring a copy of your council tax bill as you'll need the account number to complete the application form. If you can't attend and would like some support still, then please ask Debbie or Jo.
THNS hosted a fabulous International Evening, celebrating the many different cultures our of families. A BIG thank you to everyone who attended and brought food from their home cultures for us all to share. Children from Ecclesbourne Primary School entertained us with their fantastic Djembe drumming and our children were able to have a go for themselves. Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard to organise this event.
To celebrate National Poetry Day, we invited parents/carers to come in and read short poems and rhyming stories with the children. We decided to focus on the author Nick Sharratt, as his books and rhymes are short, catchy and fun! We also had a focus poem ‘Everybody has a Name’ which fitted into the theme of Black History Month, symbolising that we are all special and unique.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan coffee morning and afternoon tea. Thornton Heath Nursery raised a fantastic £130! Thank you to all the families, children and staff who made and donated cakes for us to sell.
