Early birds (Breakfast club)
Care at the beginning of the day is provided in the Sunshine Room – a dedicated space with its own kitchen. By ringing on the main school buzzer after 8:00am parents can be seen on CCTV and staff will come and let you in as the usual reception area is not generally open at this time. Care is provided between 8:00am and 8:30am at a cost of £4 per day – which includes breakfast.
In order to be as flexible as possible we allow parents to use this service on a ‘pay as you go’ basis – i.e. you do not have to pay for a whole week at a time. If you wish your child to use this service you should register in the nursery office.
The cost is £4.00 per day and the club does not accept payments in cash. Parents must pay by our ‘Magic Booking’ facility.
Early morning extended hour for full-time children
For parents that are entitled to 30 hour funded places, there is an option to purchase an additional hour at the beginning of our school day from 08.30am – 09.30am at a cost of £40 per week giving your child an extra five hours of learning per week. An 08.30am start also supports school readiness preparation and gives you an opportunity to embed those early morning routines before moving on to primary school. Many parents have commented that it also provides them with additional time for their onward journey after dropping their child to the nursery.
This must be booked and paid for through ‘Magic Booking’, the nursery does not accept payments in cash.
Sunshine Club (After school club)
Our after school club is known as the “Sunshine Club” and offers parents the facility to balance busy schedules whilst being safe in the knowledge that their child/children are having fun and being well cared for at the end of the nursery school day.
Sunshine Club is run “in house” by members of the THNS staff team and it is only available to children who attend Thornton Heath Nursery School.
Held in our Sunshine Room, our Sunshine Club provides an inviting environment where children can continue their learning through play or relax after a busy day! The Sunshine Room is fully equipped with its own kitchen for preparing a snack or “light” tea as well as having its own outdoor learning area.
Fees
From 15.30 – 16.00 £5 daily
From 15.30 – 17.00 £10 daily
From 15.30 – 18.00 £15 daily
A fine of £1 per minute will be charged if your child is collected later than their booked time.
Parents can book on a ‘ad hoc’ basis although bookings must be made by 12 midday on the day you wish to use the service. We can not accept any bookings after 12 midday, this is to ensure we adhere to safety guidelines. All bookings must be made through Magic Booking. You will not be able to contact the school office and book your child in on a daily basis, we need to know in advance how many children will be attending so that we can prepare the provision.
