What a wonderful day we have had today. The children and their families have enjoyed a winter sing-a-long in the beautiful St Alban’s Church.
With our special Christmas singalong at Saint Alban’s Church fast approaching we have been singing our favourite Christmas songs together in school and teaching them to our parents and carers at home; some children even delighted their parents by singing as the final touches were put to their family Christmas tree… As the cold weather has truly arrived it was business as usual at Thornton Heath nursery…with the right clothing and a little extra care on the icy surfaces we were exploring and getting busy inside and out.
Ladybird class have continued with lots more festive activities. They have been decorating Christmas stockings and making wreaths.
We had a very exciting time at the nursery yesterday with the children and staff wearing their Christmas jumpers in order to raise money for Save The Children.
You may be aware from the media that the UK is seeing a high number of Group A strep cases this year.
The mud kitchen became a mud swamp this week as boots and overalls were donned for some serious “squelching” and “jump sinking!”
The ladybird class Christmas preparations are flowing! We have been decorating our outside area with lots of lights and inside we have put up our Christmas tree with more colourful lights to make our nursery feel very Christmassy.
Thornton Heath was rocked by volcanic eruptions this week as the children read from Osbourne Beginners, “Volcanoes”.
This week Ladybird class have been focusing on the story of ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ The children have listened to the story in a variety of different ways.
