Being Kind Whilst Wearing Odd Socks!

Today was a double celebration as it was National Kindness Day and National Odd Sock Day! To mark both of these national events we were odd socks to school and donated an item of non-perishable food to our collection box for the St. Albans Foodbank.  Our families have certainly been very kind and generous with their donations and by the end of the day our collection box was so full that we had to stack all of the items collected on to the top of our display unit! We have collected as much food as we did during our harvest collection. Staff at the nursery will be taking the groceries to the foodbank this week where it will be used to help support around 100 families in the local community. As Howard Zinn said “Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world!” and our families at Thornton Heath Nursery School are certainly doing their utmost to make the lives of others’ a little easier. Thank you everyone.
