The Garden Awakes
As the Summer term commences our garden is continuing to change and spring into life.

With many of our Muslim friends off school celebrating Eid, we eagerly awaited their return so as to have a shared celebration.
Karen’s group emerged triumphant this week as one of their beans became the first in the school to not only germinate but grow too big for the bag in which it was held!
Spring time means big jobs in the garden. Soil has been shifted in order to enrich are record sized potato patch…hopefully the harvest will be equally gigantic come July!
This week, the first seeds of the year were sown! In order to ensure the children take part in the full life cycle, we plant early and utilise our sheltered play area… it becomes a nursery within the nursery; protecting our seedlings from any late frosts and inclement weather.
A most enjoyable week! Role play scientists took to the garden as spring knocked on the door with some sun and mild weather.
With Luna New Year over half term an early celebration was in order.
Our Wonderful World discussions continued this week with one of our favourite information books, “Volcanoes” from the Usborne beginners range.
Role playing in the garden saw scientists stalked by polar bears, snakes and Komodo dragons.
