PLANTING, CARWASH AND EGGS!

This week, the Ladybirds had a fun packed week planting seeds and trying new foods! The children helped to pick which seed to plant. Using a tally, each child cast a vote before carefully counting the results. We have successfully planted pumpkins, sunflowers and tomatoes.

Using fresh tomatoes, the children gathered the seeds by carefully cutting them and scraping the sticky seeds into the soil. A chance to link planting directly with the food we see and eat everyday. It was a tricky job, and valuable fine motor exercise and practice.

The ladybirds also had lots of fun visiting the carwash with our messy play activity. This involved washing their cars with soap and sponges. We made sure our fleet of vehicles were nice and clean before returning them back to the car wash entrance. This gave the children a chance to talk about their experiences in different locations.

The children also enjoyed a new snack this week…EGGS ON TOAST! The children enjoyed trying the eggs and some even asked for seconds.
