As Autumn begins the children return.
Our garden has fared well throughout the summer, a bumper crop of tomatoes and potatoes were in desperate need of harvesting….so the children have been pickers and diggers all week.
What is harvested must be put to use…tomatoes were prepared by the children, roasted and squashed into pizza topping sauce. The children worked together, forming bubble bread dough into pizza bases before topping, baking and eating a delicious snack time treat.
Our Friday treat was home grown potato wedges…however Karen had other plans…she set us a challenge by hiding our entire potato harvest…a team search soon saw our potatoes back in their pot ready to be counted and chopped, before being roasted into crispy wedges.
