Our Farm Adventure

Over the past two weeks, Ladybird Class has thoroughly enjoyed learning about the farm. The children have taken part in a wide variety of fun and engaging activities that have supported their learning and development across the curriculum.

The children explored farm animals to help them learn about size, practise their counting skills by counting how many animals they had, and sort them by similarities. They showed great creativity while making farm animals, fences, houses and barns using different materials.

As part of our hands-on learning, the children washed muddy animals and helped to feed them. They enjoyed learning about the different sounds farm animals make and talked about their fur, feathers and wool.

There were lots of opportunities for imaginative role play using the farm and animals, and our home corner was transformed into a farmer’s market. These activities have supported the children’s learning and development throughout all areas of the curriculum and encouraged curiosity, creativity and confidence.
