Let’s Party

Ladybird Class has been busy again this week! The children have been exploring and investigating a variety of autumn items — from cutting and digging out pumpkins to counting conkers and acorns. They’ve also been manipulating dough and doing some amazing mark making.

We’ve been reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which has really supported the children’s counting skills. They’ve also had the opportunity to try lots of delicious fruits. Using the fruits from the story, the children made fruit kebabs. They had to cut the fruit into small pieces and carefully push them onto a stick. This was quite tricky, but all the children took part and thoroughly enjoyed eating their kebabs once they were done.

Unfortunately, we had to postpone our International Evening due to the weather. However, we are still hoping the children will come to nursery in either their national costume or clothing in the colours of their country’s flag.

As you may know, it is Diwali this week, and the children have been busy with lots of colourful activities to celebrate the Festival of Light. They have made Diwali lamps and created beautiful Rangoli pictures. To finish off the celebration, they will be watching the story of Rama and Sita, performed by some of the adults in the nursery. After the play, we’ll be having a party filled with lights and dancing! The children will also get to try the famous bubble bread that Jim introduced to them with a choice between chocolate or cheese bread (and we all know which one they’ll pick!).

Ladybird Class would like to wish everyone an enjoyable break and hope the weather isn’t too wet!
