Jingle Bells!… And Chiming Bells!

This week the Christmas crafting and singing continued.

From painted toes to Rudolph’s nose, the children honed skills and tolerated ticklish painting techniques to create some specific works of art for their loved ones to treasure forever.

From Eid to Diwali, to Lunar New Year; we celebrate, tell the stories and discuss the important values around  many events and observances in the world calendar. This week we have been listening to and retelling the story of the Nativity, and how it is the basis of the good tidings of peace and joy we have been singing about in our group times and play.

We have been singing our old favourites, shaking hips and jingle bells in preparation for being welcomed by Father Joshua to St Alban’s church across the road from THNS.

Joined by carers and parents and some extended families, our Christmas singalong is now in its fourth year and brings our nursery community ,made up of all faiths and none, together in one of Thornton Heath’s biggest and most central landmarks. We hear the bell from the church chime everyday and Father Joshua kindly rung the bell as we sat beneath the tower; a chime for each day left until Christmas day.

Just 12 to go!
