The nursery room is now officially ready for the festive season. With little voices ringing out “I’m a Little Snowman” and “When Santa Got Stuck Up the Chimney” the baubles have been hung, the lights arranged and the tinsel draped.
Shopping has continued in our new role play and maths area. Children have done their food shops, completed school shoe purchases and even picked up a gift or two for mum and dad. Whether using coins, pebbles or cards for currency, exchanges have been taking place throughout the week; counting, swapping, discussing cost, numbers and value.
The reading room was transformed into a planetarium on Tuesday as Jackie’s Solar System themed puzzle engaged the children in books, songs and short footage relating to the planets and space.
Christmas crafting took place on Wednesday, with carers joining us for gingerbread and decoration making, however carers will also be set for a surprise as some secret gifts and cards have been in production throughout the week.
Next week, preparations begin for our festive celebration on Friday 19th. Will we be making gingerbread or chocolate bubble bread for our party treat? Only democracy and careful counting will be able to decide!
