Bubble Mixing Bubble Blowing

This week, the staff and children entered a brave new world of bubble production! Over the course of the week, we have been adapting a bubble mix recipe, carefully adjusting the quantities of ingredients using cups, tea spoons and measuring jugs in order to create the biggest, wobbliest and most colourful bubbles Thornton Heath has ever seen. A valuable experience in measurement, practice following instructions and adjusting methods based on the results we see. Different ingredients had to be combined in different ways; there was whisking, tipping, gentle stirring and even shaking…all actions invaluable in the development of both hand eye coordination and the application of physical strength!

In group times, we looked at Kandinsky’s Circles before creating our own versions in both collaborative and independent efforts. I’m sure you’ll agree the results are striking!
