The children and adults returned from their long summer break with a spring in their step and ready to play!
From day one the children at Thornton Heath Nursery School were down to business as always…There were tomatoes, raspberries, pumpkins and cucumbers to locate, pick, count, wash, chop and…eat! This means communication skills, cooperation skills and physical skills were being flexed and developed.
Having grown our produce from seed back in February, this is a particularly powerful learning experience for the children who are not future scientists, they are the scientists of today!
With such a bumper crop of tomatoes, next week there will be tomatoes roasting and bubble bread dough proving, as the children make their first batch of bubble bread pizzas of the year.
