A helping hand!

On Wednesday we delivered an impressive amount of food to the St Alban’s Foodbank.  We counted 38 shopping bags full of groceries – far too many for the staff at the nursery to carry on their own. A group of our wonderful parents “volunteered” to help whilst chaperoning their own child/children to visit the foodbank. We felt it was really important that the children gained an understanding of where their food was going and how it was helping support people less fortunate than themselves within their community. We were greeted by some very cheerful volunteers who took time to thank the children, giving them a huge round of applause. The foodbank supports around 100 families a week so you can imagine how well received our donations were. Thank you to the families at Thornton Heath Nursery School for your donations and also for supporting us with transporting the groceries. You have made a huge difference to someone’s week!!
