A most enjoyable week!

Role play scientists took to the garden as spring knocked on the door with some sun and mild weather. Komodo dragons were marauding and angry hippos baring their teeth in warning as the scientists “observed” the animals. The children tried to keep their distance from the dangerous creatures; counting them and recording their diets and whether they had babies.  Many children can explain how Komodo dragons smell, and tell you why the hippos appear to yawn…even though they are very far from being sleepy!

Kamile and her artists have created a fabulous display based on our imminent planting. Will our garden be as beautiful, bountiful and neatly presented as the collage? Only time will tell, with planting beginning next week!

Mild weather has led to some fabulous action in the mud kitchen. Collaboration, precision and exploration in abundance and well worth the mess!  As with all our zones, cross curricular activity is a given; exploring capacity, exploring imaginative scenarios both independently and together, fine and gross motor exercise and story telling…all whilst  developing  language, listening skills  and understanding!
