Today, the children of Thornton Heath donned their breeches and tricorn hats. They waxed their moustaches and shivered their timbers, before scaling mountains and traversing jungle clad islands in the hunt of buried treasure.
With some costume impetus, map making and navigating before digging for treasure was the order of the day. The children came together in shared role play as the big climb became a pirate ship’s rigging, the swooping branches of the weeping willow tree became a tropical jungle and the digging area was transformed into a invariable treasure trove.
Another day of themed fun at Thornton Heath Nursery School! Imaginative play, collaboration and creativity in abundance as always!
