The Power of P!

More Polar antics this week. With P sounds popping up all over the place it was time for a pizza party. However, different groups had different challenges to undertake in order to make it onto the pizza party list. Some children were making the sound, a careful whispered sound…other children…many gearing up for Reception in a matter of months… were recognising the letter p and even writing it using our Little Wandle guides to help (https://www.littlewandle.org.uk/).

The torrential rain at the beginning of the week could not dappen our spirits as children, growing in independence, removed shoes and donned wellington boots, with only one or two pairs of shoes going missing…

Fabrics and pegs have been the order of the week under the shelter. With dens, hides and costumes being created with just the odd pinch from a peg being reported…

Wednesday was dough day; our bubble bread needing “one day and one night for the yeast to blow its bubbles”…baking in the round means the bowl is passed around our circle with each child in the group being responsible for either the addition of an ingredient or an action to form our lovely, sticky dough.

Thursday was pizza day. Rolling, spreading, crumbling….eating!
