Goodbye to the chicks…see you soon!

After two weeks of care, our youngest members of the community departed. It was time to say goodbye to the chicks. Expertly cared for by the children, with the support of Karen, our chicks flourished. The children ensured the chicks had the shelter, food and water they require in order to grow and develop well. We reflected upon the things we need to stay healthy and how it’s often our job to ensure we make the right choices to safe and healthy…. Whether it’s choosing the right rainbow fruit and vegetable snacks or listening to the adults in our lives, we all have a part to play to stay as healthy and happy as our chicks were.

Happily, our four female chicks have been adopted by two families from the nursery…this means a return visit later in the year may be in order!

During the week, the parents and carers were invited into the nursery for an outside learning celebration. We all took part in activities, all of which were transferable to the home or park with just a little bit of preplanning. Another wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to share and celebrate the development and fun taking place every day at Thornton Heath Nursery School.
