In Ladybird class we have been reading the ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and we have been doing lots of different activities around this story. We have made a fruit salad from the different fruits the caterpillar ate and then we ate it, we did not like all the fruits but we did try them. We have painted and glued collage materials on to paper plates to make the body of the caterpillar and then we painted a head. This week we learnt to play a new game where we had to feed the caterpillar by posting different fruit and foods into his mouth, we named each fruit or piece of food we fed him. After counting the number of fruits the caterpillar ate we made marks on paper to represent each number. This was very challenging for us but we all had a go and persevered! At the end of the story the hungry caterpillar transforms in to a butterfly. We will be using our painting skills next week to make our own butterfly.
