Slimy exploration

With the arrival of more new children last week, Thornton Heath Nursery was bustling with little adventurers.  Our older children supported their new friends with playing the claves in group time, our adventurous climbing apparatus was explored and much fun was had accessing all that Thornton Heath Nursery School has to offer.

The children made some fresh slime and observed it changing state throughout the week. Being “oozy”, “cold and yucky” one day and a “lump of jelly” the next. The slime was a ball, a puddle and sometimes even a window as it was stretched, pulled and bounced around the messy play area.

To access the digging area, the children are supporting each other to change their footwear as wellington boots are needed in the wet mud. Notes were written and folded into tins, before being buried as treasure to be discovered by a future, lucky digger!  Will the tins be excavated next week or will they lie undiscovered?!
