This week the Nursery children have enjoyed reading about a team of soup chefs in, ‘Pumpkin Soup’ by Helen Cooper. The team consists of a pumpkin chopping cat, a stirring squirrel and a seasoning duck. As pumpkins are currently in season we had an extravaganza in the nursery; pumpkins were hammered with nails, chopped into slices, threaded onto kebab skewers, used as printing blocks and even turned into art installations. This all culminated in a Pumpkin Party on Friday where the children chopped and prepared their own pumpkin soup!
