Inspired by Vincent

This term  we are focusing on the artist Vincent Van Gogh. This week the Ladybird class have painted pictures of sunflowers inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers”.  The children have had support to create their master pieces with adults helping them to focus closely on the shapes and colours in the painting. The children have focused for extended periods of time and this is apparent in the quality of the work they have produced,  their wonderful paintings are now on display in their classroom for everyone to see.  It is very important to display the children’s work as this shows them you value all their hard work they do. Well done children you should be very proud of yourselves.

This week the children have had the opportunity to build using some new construction equipment that we have purchased, the pieces join together to make a 3D models which also created opportunity for lots of talking about shape.  The trains and tracks have been very popular this week with children working both on their own and together to join the track pieces to make long tracks to drive their trains on. The children have used the doll’s house and figures to draw on their own experiences from home and role play routines that happen at home for example, having a bath or going to bed. It has been another busy week for Ladybird class and we have lots more exciting things to learn and do for next week.
