This week the children have been learning the concept of the number three. They have all had the opportunity to try and form the number.
Our cooking activity this week was making pizza. We used wraps as our base for the pizza. The children spread the tomato sauce on the wrap then added some sweetcorn, they then had the option of sprinkling some cheese on top. The pizzas were then put in the oven to warm through and melt the cheese. The children learnt and used new language such as melt, spread and sprinkle. Once the pizzas were ready and had cooled down the children ate them for their snack. All children tried them, most ate the whole thing and some even had seconds. Well done children.
The story of the week has been ‘The Three Little Pigs’. The children have really enjoyed this and by the end of the week they were joining in with the adult to tell the story. The children were able to continue the story when the adult stopped and repeated the familiar phrases that were used e.g.’ I will huff and puff and blow your house down’. During the week the story props were put out for the children to retell the story using their own words, this was very popular and they were very good at acting the story out. Well done children.
