This week Ladybird class have been focusing on number rhymes, the children have had a great time. We have used finger puppets and different props that match the rhymes. This is helping the children learn their numbers and supporting them to count in sequence forwards and backwards in a fun way. This can also help the children that are less confident with their numbers through singing.
We have started our cooking sessions again. We started by doing something very simple, we made Krispy cakes. This helps the children in many different ways, they are taught basic hygiene routines for example, washing and drying your hands before cooking or eating. They have to listen and follow simple instructions and wait for their turn. The used their fine motor skills to mix and spoon the mixture out and we talked about what was going to happen to the cold hard chocolate when we put it into the microwave, words were used to describe what the children thought e.g. hot, soft and melt.
The children have continued with their festive crafts and are producing some amazing work. Well done children
