Autumn is a wonderful time of year to inspire children’s learning despite the cold and rain. The leaves on the trees take on their autumnal colours and the wetter weather encourages mini-beasts to scurry around outside. The children have had a very productive half term exploring paint mixing, making prints and collages from gathered leaves and creating spikey hedgehogs from clay and sticks.
Our pre-nursery room focused on the story of “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” and learnt lots of new story language including a song! Our nursery room have been reading “The Gruffalo”, which is always a favourite story with the children and this week they have started to read “We’re Going On A Bear Hunt”, another favourite amongst the staff and children.
