A cold and crispy week!

With our special Christmas singalong at Saint Alban’s Church fast approaching we have been singing our favourite Christmas songs together in school and teaching them to our parents and carers at home; some children even delighted their parents by singing as the final touches were put to their family Christmas tree…

As the cold weather has truly arrived it was business as usual at Thornton Heath nursery…with the right clothing and a little extra care on the icy surfaces we were exploring and getting busy inside and out. We filled trays with water at the end of each session so we could see and touch the effects of the cold winter temperatures for ourselves the next day. We have explored the movement of ice on ice, flicking penguins (toy ones!) to make them skate and listened to the cracking and crunching sound of ice breaking.

With parachute games, freshly baked bubble bread and warming soup to keep out the cold the children were as comfortable and engaged as ever.
