It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

The ladybird class Christmas preparations are flowing!  We have been decorating our outside area with lots of lights and inside we have put up our Christmas tree with more colourful lights to make our nursery feel very Christmassy.

The children have had the opportunity to engage in lots of Christmas crafts this week. They have used paint, glue, glitter and lots of other sparkly items, we have had so much fun, this will continue on next week as time is going fast and we have so many exciting things to do and make but we are not showing you yet as it’s a secret. We have been learning the words to our seasonal songs in preparation for our winter sing-a-long at St. Albans church on the 13th December 2022. We do hope all of our families can join us.

We have continued focusing on the story of ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ as repetition is the best way to learn new language and develop our comprehension skills.

Story props were left out alongside the books for the children to use to re-tell the story in their own words. Most of the children took the opportunity to do this and were able to tell some parts of the story correctly. The home corner was also turned into the three bears house, the children had three bears, three beds and three bowls of porridge.  We have learnt about the difference in sizes, comparing big, medium and small objects related to the story. It was fabulous to see the children act out the story in different ways recalling key parts of the story and interpreting them in their own way.
